The cats that are up for adoption at the Sanctuary come from all walks of life; some have been surrendered due age or medical conditions, some are rescued from high kill shelters where they were up for euthanasia, and some were found stray. One thing they all share is their search for their forever permanent home.
Roly-Poly is petite American shorthair kitty with white mittens, chest, and tummy, and pretty green eyes is very affectionate with people. She loves treats and ear-rubs and is always ready to greet our volunteers with a warm, soft purr. She will melt your heart within minutes of meeting her. Roly-Poly is a smaller, non-dominant kitty who would do well either as the only cat in the home, where she could get all the human attention she deserves or in a house with another mellow kitty like her. She gets along just fine with the other cats in the Sanctuary. She will often rub up on the other cats, and she never gets in a scuffle. Besides her excellent temperament, Roly-Poly keeps herself very clean and is generally a healthy cat.
One of our special need's cats, Roly-Poly, came to us because she has a chronic digestive condition that requires regular medication to prevent house soiling, but this is very manageable. She is just the right size for a warm lap, and she will give you mounds of affection. Neither timid nor aggressive, this loving, adorable, pint-sized bundle of sweetness will bring joy to any home.
Special Need: Roly-Poly can have bouts of diarrhea due to IBS.

Derp is one of our most stunningly beautiful cats: a long-haired orange striped with a white chest and wispy long ear tufts. One of those rarer female oranges, she has a typical orange cat's laid-back temperament. Just a tiny bit shy, she warms up quickly and loves the treats and attention she gets from the volunteers she sees every week. One of her cutest expressions is that look with her tiny pink tongue showing. Derp is soft and fluffy, and she needs regular brushing to help her keep herself beautiful. Underneath all that fluffy orange fur beats a heart of gold, though. Derp has not been at the Sanctuary very long, and she never fights with the other kitties. She keeps mostly to herself until our human volunteers arrive to play with her and give her love and affection. Derp clearly loves people, and she would look regal nestled on her very own soft cat bed like the Queen she is.

Leo is a lover and a handsome larger-sized male American short-haired with white mittens and a white chest. Walking like a lion, he is strong, alert, athletic, and most definitely an alpha cat. Leo would do best in an indoor-outdoor living situation where he can hunt, perhaps a farm or other type of large property where he would have plenty of space. Leo is affectionate with humans, especially women, and he loves to sit in a lap and be petted. It is easy to pick Leo up once you get to know him. He is a big, muscular, rangy boy who always has his eye on every situation at the Sanctuary, making sure he has the best perch to see what is happening. Leo would make a great companion for someone who shares his calm and watchful personality, and he would give back a thousand times over the affection shared with him.
Special Need: Leo needs space. He needs to be an indoor/ outdoor cat, and he needs to be able to be the alpha cat.

Bean is a delightfully spirited black short-haired, sleek young kitty with lovely gold eyes from California. She was born and raised in a "colony" with other feral cats and was brought here to our Sanctuary as a young cat with her two siblings. Bean is now approx. 10 months old. Our volunteers at the Sanctuary have been spending quite a bit of time working with young Bean, and she has become fond of human attention and treats. She is energetic and very playful! She loves to jump and chase toys, and now she enjoys being petted a bit by humans, too. She will lay down for a short while and let you stroke her before she is up again chasing something. Bean does well with other cats, as she is used to being around a "pack" of cats, and she understands her place in the cat social hierarchy. Recently one of Bean's siblings, Duchess, was adopted out of the Sanctuary, and Duchess is doing well in her new environment with a 7-year-old male cat. If you give her a chance, sweet little black Bean will bring years of love and entertainment to the right family.

Slice is a pretty, petite, black and white short-haired cat with the sweetest personality and a heart-shaped face with a tiny nose. She is obsessed with ear rubs and cat treats and will follow our volunteers around for both. Slice has a chronic sinus condition that needs treatment, so she makes a raspy sound sometimes when she breathes, but it never seems to get in the way of her sunny personality. Slice will rub up against you and even hop into your lap for affection, although she isn't aggressive about it. She greets our volunteers at the door and hops up on a cat tree to say hello every time they visit. Slice is not aggressive with other cats, and she gets along fine with everyone else at the Sanctuary. She is not one to hide, as she clearly loves people. She would love to be there to greet you with her soft purr and shiny green eyes when you get home!

Our kitties can't wait to meet you!
Henry was a feral resident of the Sanctuary for eight years. He is a handsome, fluffy, long-haired grey and white cat with penetrating green eyes. Volunteer Solveig Whittle met Henry in the fall of 2019 when she and her 16-year-old son began volunteering to help socialize the feral cats at the Sanctuary once a week. Henry spent a lot of time sitting with quiet dignity with his back to the others in the Sanctuary up on a cat tree platform. After a few weeks of conversation and tentative pets, Henry finally let Solveig pick him up.
Henry got very sick with an upper respiratory infection, and Solveig offered to foster and care for him. He thrived at her house, and it became apparent that Henry wasn’t going back to the Sanctuary. He is so happy and has found his forever home with Solveig’s family, the black lab, pug, and the orange short-haired cat who make up the fur pack. Solveig still volunteers at the Sanctuary every Sunday.
Duchess came to the Sanctuary feral at approximately six months old. Our volunteers humanized her by playing, grooming, petting, and interacting with her. She was recently adopted and now lives with the feline head of the house Lord M who is seven years old, and her blonde servant, who waits on them hand and foot!
